Sofiyivka Park
The landscape park forms a large, clearly bounded shape of winding paths, ponds and streams. It is the most intricate part of the map and instantly recognisable to anyone who has walked it.

Uman Map Poster & Print
Uman sits on rolling land in the Cherkasy region, where small rivers have cut shallow valleys into the plateau. The historic centre follows the higher ground, with streets fanning out from the old market area, and newer housing fills the slopes around it. The most striking element on the map is the large green outline of Sofiyivka Park on the northern side of town, its paths winding between ponds and groves.
Sofiyivka was created in the 1790s by the Polish magnate Stanisław Szczęsny Potocki for his wife Zofia. It remains one of the best-known landscape parks in Eastern Europe, with grottoes, waterfalls and artificial lakes. Uman is also a place of pilgrimage: Rabbi Nachman of Breslov is buried here, and many thousands of Hasidic pilgrims arrive each year for Rosh Hashanah.
A Uman map poster brings both of these layers into one drawing. The irregular paths of the park contrast with the straighter streets of the centre, and the river valleys add soft curves. The railway and main roads lead out across open farmland in every direction, including the highway that links Kyiv and Odesa.

River valleys
Small rivers cross the city in shallow valleys. Ponds and green strips interrupt the street pattern there and give the map its gentle curves.
Radial roads
Roads leave the centre in several directions across the flat farmland. Seen from above, this gives Uman a loose star shape.

Waarom Uman
Een kaart met betekenis
Some people hang this map to remember a walk through Sofiyivka, others to mark a pilgrimage or a family history in central Ukraine. Its mix of curved park paths and city blocks gives a detailed but uncluttered image that suits both small and large frames.
