Palace axis
The main street of the old town runs straight toward the Reggia, a deliberate baroque piece of planning that still organises the centre.

Venaria Reale Map Poster & Print
Venaria Reale lies just north of Turin, and its plan still shows that it was built to serve a court. In the seventeenth century the Savoy dukes created a hunting residence here, and the small town was arranged along a straight axis that leads the eye, and the visitor, directly to the palace gates.
The Reggia di Venaria is part of the UNESCO-listed Residences of the Royal House of Savoy, and on a map its footprint is enormous: long wings, courtyards and a geometric garden that dwarfs the historic centre beside it. Beyond it stretches the walled La Mandria park, a large expanse of woodland and meadow that once formed the royal hunting grounds.
A Venaria Reale map poster makes this relationship unusually clear. The dense old streets, the monumental rectangle of the palace and the open green of the park sit side by side, with the Ceronda stream and the suburbs of Turin framing the composition. Few places of this size show their history so plainly in their layout.

Waarom Venaria Reale
Een kaart met betekenis
The map appeals to anyone who has walked the palace galleries, been married nearby or grown up in the northern suburbs of Turin. It is also a strong piece of design in its own right, with the formal gardens reading almost like a drawing.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, and add a date for a visit or an occasion. The five styles, Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand, let the baroque geometry appear either crisp and graphic or soft and warm.
