Xilinhot Map Poster & Print
Xilinhot is the seat of Xilin Gol League in central Inner Mongolia, surrounded by some of the most extensive natural grasslands in northern China. The city stands on an open plateau, and its edges are unusually crisp on a map: a grid of wide avenues and large blocks ends abruptly, and beyond it the steppe extends in every direction.
The Xilin River winds across the plain near the city, its meanders and wetlands contrasting with the straight streets. On a hill at the northern edge stands the Beizi Temple, a Tibetan Buddhist monastery founded in the eighteenth century, around which the settlement originally grew. Parks, squares and sports grounds occupy generous plots within the planned centre.
Xilinhot serves as a regional centre for herding communities and as a base for travellers exploring the grasslands, especially in summer, when the steppe is at its greenest. A Xilinhot map poster conveys the unusual clarity of a city drawn on open land, with nothing between its outer streets and the horizon.

Waarom Xilinhot
Een kaart met betekenis
Xilinhot is often a place of departures and returns, for herders, workers and travellers heading into the grasslands. A map of the city with your own title, a subtitle and a date makes a meaningful reminder of time spent on the steppe.
Five styles let you choose the mood: Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Download all six print sizes as 300 DPI PNG and PDF for $9, or order a matte poster with an optional wooden frame.
