Avenue grid
Broad, straight avenues divide the city into large rectangular blocks. The pattern is regular enough to give the poster a calm, architectural rhythm from edge to edge.

De kaart
Xinji Map Poster & Print
Xinji is a county-level city administered by Shijiazhuang in Hebei province, on the level farmland of the North China Plain. With no hills or coastline to shape it, the map is defined by its roads: wide avenues meeting at right angles to form large blocks, and a railway line crossing the urban area. Villages and field boundaries surround the city in regular patches.
The city is best known in China for its leather and fur trade, and its markets have drawn merchants from across the country for decades. As in many towns of the region, the street map shows two scales at once: a finer-grained older core, and newer districts of long avenues and large residential compounds built as the city expanded.
A Xinji map poster suits people who like geometry: long straight lines, repeated right angles, and a sharp edge where the built-up area gives way to farmland. The plain is so even that the city's structure reads almost like a technical drawing, which is exactly why it looks striking when printed in a single colour.

The railway line
A rail corridor cuts through the urban area on a steady diagonal against the grid. It adds one decisive line of tension to an otherwise orthogonal composition.
Edge of the plain
At the margins of the frame, city blocks give way to field boundaries and village clusters. The contrast shows how directly the city sits on open agricultural land.

Waarom Xinji
Een kaart met betekenis
For people from Xinji, or anyone who has built a life or a business there, the poster records a city that has changed quickly. It shows the whole shape at once, clearly enough to point to a street, a school or a first apartment.
You can change the title, subtitle and coordinates line, adding a name in any language or a meaningful date. Choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Blueprint suits the city's straight, engineered lines especially well.
