Valley-floor plan
The town stretches along the flat valley floor, and its main streets run parallel to the water. This gives the map a strong directional line from one side of the frame to the other.

Yezhou Map Poster & Print
Yezhou lies in the mountainous far west of Hubei province, in country where flat land is scarce and every settlement has to fit its terrain. From above, the town is a long, narrow shape that follows a valley, with streets packed into the level ground and roads climbing out along the contours. Around it, the map is taken up by folded hills and small tributary streams.
This part of Hubei belongs to the Enshi region, home to Tujia and Miao communities and known for its limestone mountains, deep gorges and terraced tea slopes. Towns here grow in a linear way, stretching along rivers and highways instead of spreading out in rings, and Yezhou follows that pattern.
A Yezhou map poster captures that tension between settlement and slope. The street network is compact and purposeful, and the empty space around it matters as much as the lines. The finished print looks almost like a cross-section of the valley, a record of how a town makes room for itself in the mountains.

Contour roads
The roads that leave town twist and double back as they climb, drawing the shape of the surrounding hills without a single contour line.
Mountain margins
Large, quiet areas of hillside surround the built-up core. On the poster they act as generous white space, so the dense town centre stands out clearly.
