Market square
The medieval square sits at the heart of the old town, with narrow streets leading away from it, forming the densest and most recognisable part of the print.

Złotoryja Map Poster & Print
Złotoryja lies on the Kaczawa River in Lower Silesia, where the foothills of the Sudetes meet the lowlands to the north. The oldest part of town sits on raised ground above the river, with a market square at its centre and streets leading outward from it, while later districts spread along the valley and over the gentler slopes around it.
The town's name means golden, a reference to the gold found in local rivers and hills in the Middle Ages. Złotoryja received town rights in 1211, which makes it one of the oldest chartered towns in Poland. Gold panning remains part of its identity, and the town regularly hosts gold panning championships.
A Złotoryja map poster shows a place shaped by water and high ground. The river runs through the valley below the centre, the old town gathers around its square, and the roads leaving it follow valleys and ridges into the countryside. The basalt hill of Wilcza Góra adds another landmark just beyond the streets.

Kaczawa River
The Kaczawa winds along the valley below the old centre, a soft line across the lower ground that contrasts with the compact street pattern above it.
Gold country
Złotoryja's name and history come from medieval gold mining, and old mining sites in the surrounding hills are a reminder of why the town grew up here.
