Abū Ḩummuş lies in Beheira governorate, in the western Nile Delta between Damanhour and Kafr el-Dawwar. The land is completely flat and intensively irrigated, and on the map the town appears as a dense cluster of streets surrounded by the narrow strips of fields that cover the delta.
