Al Jumayl lies in northwest Libya, in the An Nuqat al Khams district between Tripoli and the Tunisian border. It sits on the Jafara Plain, the flat coastal lowland that runs inland from the Mediterranean toward the Nafusa Mountains. The surrounding area is farmland, with olive groves and irrigated plots divided into regular parcels.
