Altınşehir lies in Adıyaman Province in south-eastern Turkey, a region of high plateaus, low mountains and river valleys on the edge of Upper Mesopotamia. On the map, it forms a compact network of streets and blocks surrounded by open land, with the main roads linking it to nearby towns and villages.
