Ansfelden sits on the southern edge of the Linz urban area in Upper Austria, and from above it reads less like one town than a cluster of neighbouring settlements. Residential streets, business parks and open fields alternate across gently rolling ground, while the small Krems river threads through on its way toward the Traun.
