Az Zuwāydah lies in the central part of the Gaza Strip, on the flat coastal plain between Deir al-Balah and Nuseirat. From above, it is a compact settlement of close-set blocks and narrow streets. The main north–south route through the Strip runs nearby, and farmland and scattered buildings stretch west toward the sea and east toward the interior.

Coastal road corridor
Main roads run north and south through central Gaza near the town. Their long, straight lines link Az Zuwāydah to neighbouring communities along the coastal plain.
