Ballenger Creek is an unincorporated community in Frederick County, Maryland, just south and southwest of the city of Frederick. It takes its name from the stream that runs through the area towards the Monocacy River. Over recent decades, what was once farmland has become mainly residential.
From above, the community is made up of subdivisions: looping streets, cul-de-sacs and townhouse courts, divided by major roads. The creek and its wooded strips run through the pattern and leave green corridors. At the edges, farmland and open country still remain.
