Bang Khlo is a subdistrict of Bang Kho Laem in Bangkok, on the eastern bank of the Chao Phraya River as it makes one of its wide curves south of the city centre. On a map the river is the dominant feature, sweeping around the edge of the area, and the streets are arranged in relation to it. Main roads run parallel to the bank, and narrow sois branch off towards the water.
The texture is typical of older riverside Bangkok. Long, thin lanes are lined with housing, small businesses and temples, and some of the streets end at piers or at the river itself. Further inland, larger roads carry traffic towards Sathorn and the business districts, and newer buildings sit next to older neighbourhoods.
