From above, Batangas reads as a city that faces the sea. Its streets fan out from the shore of Batangas Bay, and long harbour piers and industrial frontage break up the waterfront. The port basins
The piers, breakwaters and terminal yards of the international port make hard rectilinear shapes on the coast. They contrast strongly with the organic street pattern of the older town behind them.
