Bayonne Map Poster & Print
Bayonne occupies the southern end of a narrow peninsula in Hudson County, New Jersey, between Newark Bay to the west and Upper New York Bay to the east. The Kill Van Kull separates it from Staten Island to the south. On the map it is a long, thin city surrounded almost entirely by water, with Jersey City directly to the north.
Broadway runs down the middle of the peninsula, and Avenues A through E and the numbered streets form a regular grid on either side. Along the shores the grid gives way to industrial land, piers and parks. The former Military Ocean Terminal extends far into the harbour on a man-made strip of land to the east.
The Bayonne Bridge, a steel arch over the Kill Van Kull, links the city with Staten Island and was raised in the 2010s to let larger container ships through. A Bayonne map poster captures a city defined by water on every side: a straight grid, a long spine, and a coastline shaped by ports and industry.
