Beloozyorskiy lies in the Voskresensk area of Moscow Oblast, in the low, forested country of the Meshchera region. Its name comes from the nearby White Lake, and water is the most striking part of the map. Lakes and ponds lie next to the town and scatter across the surrounding woodland, and their pale outlines contrast with the dark mass of the forest.
The town is a compact planned settlement from the Soviet period. Five-storey apartment blocks and courtyards line straight streets, and a few main roads lead in and out. Around the edges, garden plots and dacha settlements spread out in a finer grid before giving way to the pines. A railway line runs nearby and links the town to the wider region.
