Bilimora lies in southern Gujarat, in Navsari district, on the banks of the Ambika River a short distance inland from the Arabian Sea. The river is the strongest line on the map: it curves past the town and widens toward its mouth, while the built-up area gathers on the land beside it in a close, irregular pattern of lanes.
The town has long been a stop on the main railway line between Mumbai and Ahmedabad, and the straight corridor of tracks cuts cleanly through the street network. Bilimora is also the starting point of a narrow-gauge line that runs east toward Waghai and the forested hills of the Dang district, a route many rail enthusiasts know by name.
