Biny Selo lies on the Absheron Peninsula, the dry, flat spur of land that extends into the Caspian Sea east of Baku. From above, it is a spread-out settlement of houses, gardens and walled plots, crossed by roads that connect it to the capital and to neighbouring villages on the peninsula.
The Bina area is best known as the location of Heydar Aliyev International Airport, Baku's main air gateway. On the map, the airport's runways form long, straight lines that contrast with the smaller, more irregular streets of the residential area nearby.
