Boucherville lies on the south shore of the St. Lawrence River, looking across the water toward the eastern end of the island of Montreal. On a map the river takes up a generous share of the frame, and the town's edge follows its bank in a long line of streets, parks and shoreline paths.
Just offshore sits a group of low islands protected as the Parc national des Îles-de-Boucherville, a pattern of channels, marshes and wooded land that breaks the river into narrow passages.
