Casanay is a town in Sucre state, in the north-east of Venezuela, and the seat of Andrés Eloy Blanco municipality. It lies inland from the Caribbean coast on the main road that runs east from Cariaco toward Carúpano and the Paria Peninsula, in a landscape of low hills, farmland and tropical vegetation.
From above, the town is organised around that main road, with a compact grid of streets on either side and houses giving way quickly to cultivated land.
