Chalāla lies in the Amreli district of Gujarat, in the Saurashtra peninsula. The surrounding land is largely flat and agricultural, with fields, scattered trees and village roads. From above, the town forms a compact settlement where several roads meet, with a denser core and newer housing at the edges.
