Conceição do Almeida is a municipality in Bahia, in the Recôncavo region inland from the Bay of All Saints. It is a modest agricultural town. From above, the urban area is compact: a handful of main streets meet near the centre, and quieter residential lanes branch off toward the surrounding countryside. Beyond the edge of town, the map opens onto rolling farmland.
The Recôncavo has long been one of Bahia's farming heartlands.
