Conisbrough Map Poster & Print
Conisbrough stands on high ground above the River Don in South Yorkshire, between Doncaster and Rotherham. On the map the town sits on the slope with its streets running up from the valley. The river, the railway along it and the tall Conisbrough Viaduct over the Don mark the northern side of the frame.
The town is best known for Conisbrough Castle, whose circular stone keep was built in the late twelfth century and is among the most striking surviving Norman keeps in England. Walter Scott used the castle as a setting in Ivanhoe. Around it older lanes curve with the hill, while later terraced streets and estates from the mining era spread across the higher ground.
A Conisbrough map poster keeps the old centre, the castle mound, the valley and the later housing in one frame. It suits people from the town and from the wider Doncaster area, and visitors who remember the view from the keep.

The viaduct
