Drozhzhino is a residential settlement in the Moscow region, just south of the city's outer edge. From above, it looks like many of the newer suburban districts around the capital: large apartment blocks arranged in courtyards, wide roads between them, and pockets of woodland, fields and older village plots nearby.
The settlement has grown quickly as part of the wider expansion of housing around Moscow, and much of what appears on the map today is recent. Its position near major roads leading into the city makes it part of the daily commuter pattern of the capital region, with transport links shaping the way the district connects outward.
