Fairfield Map Poster & Print
Fairfield runs along the Connecticut shore of Long Island Sound, between Bridgeport and Westport. From above, the southern edge of the town is a line of beaches, marshes and small inlets. Southport Harbor, a narrow tidal inlet, cuts into the western part of the coast. Inland, the land rises gently and the streets spread out into wooded residential areas.
The town was founded in 1639, and its older roads still follow colonial routes, meeting at greens and historic centres rather than forming a grid. Interstate 95 and the Metro-North rail line run parallel to the coast and separate the beach neighbourhoods from the rest of town. Fairfield University and Sacred Heart University both have large campuses here.
The result is a map with a clear order running north to south: shoreline, rail and highway, old town centres, then quieter wooded roads. A Fairfield map poster lets the curve of the Sound and the fine grain of residential streets carry the image, well suited to a coastal home.

Southport Harbor
A narrow tidal inlet reaches into the western shore by the historic village of Southport. It is one of the most distinctive small shapes on the coastline.
Coastal corridor
Interstate 95 and the rail line run side by side a short distance inland. Together they form a double band that divides the beach area from the town above it.
