Ganderkesee is in Lower Saxony, between Delmenhorst, Bremen and Oldenburg. It is a large municipality made up of the main village and several smaller settlements, so the map shows a scattered pattern of village centres set among fields, meadows and forest. The A28 motorway between Bremen and Oldenburg runs through the area and forms a strong diagonal line.
