Guaramirim lies in northern Santa Catarina, in the Itapocu river basin between the larger cities of Joinville and Jaraguá do Sul. The landscape mixes lowland with wooded hills, and from above the town sits on the valley floor, its streets spreading across the flatter ground while the slopes around it remain largely green.
