Kapasan lies in Chittorgarh district in the south of Rajasthan, in the historic Mewar region. From above, its centre is a dense cluster of narrow lanes and closely packed buildings, with newer blocks spreading out along the main roads. Beyond the town the land opens into farmland, divided by field boundaries, with occasional tanks and seasonal streams.
This is typical country for southern Rajasthan: flat to gently rolling, farmed, and dotted with towns that serve as markets for the surrounding villages. The railway and roads that link Kapasan with Chittorgarh and Udaipur form the main lines of movement across the landscape.
