Kukatpally lies in the northwest of Hyderabad, and on a map it is one of the most densely built parts of the city. A national highway runs through it toward Mumbai, and the elevated metro follows the same main corridor, giving the district a strong spine. The Housing Board colony spreads across a large area in orderly phases, its straight numbered roads creating one of the most regular patterns in this part of Hyderabad.
