Lake Magdalene is a residential community just north of Tampa in Hillsborough County, named for the lake at its centre. From above, the lake is the clear focal point: a large, irregular body of water with homes along its shore and streets curving to follow the waterline. Smaller lakes and ponds appear throughout the surrounding neighbourhoods.
This is typical Florida suburban geography. Instead of a grid, streets loop and branch into cul-de-sacs, with a few straight arterial roads crossing the area and connecting it to Tampa.
