Langen is a town in the Cuxhaven district of Lower Saxony, in northern Germany, just north of Bremerhaven. Since 2015 it has been part of the town of Geestland. On a map it appears as a compact settlement with a mix of older village streets and newer residential areas, surrounded by fields and open land.
The name Geestland refers to the geest, the slightly higher, sandy ground typical of this part of the North Sea coast, as distinct from the flat marshland near the Weser estuary.
