Leesburg is a city in Lake County, Florida, set on land between Lake Harris to the south and Lake Griffin to the north. This position defines its map. The older downtown streets form a grid on the higher ground between the lakes, and the edges of the city are drawn by curving shorelines rather than straight boundaries.
The lakes are part of the Harris Chain of Lakes, and a short waterway links them near the city. Venetian Gardens, a waterfront park on Lake Harris, is one of Leesburg's best-known public spaces. The city is also known for Leesburg Bikefest, a large motorcycle event held each spring.
