Menglang is the seat of Lancang Lahu Autonomous County in southwestern Yunnan, China, not far from the border with Myanmar. The county is named for the Lahu people, whose culture is central to local life. The town sits in a valley, surrounded by forested hills, tea gardens and farmland.
The county is known for its tea. The ancient tea forests of Jingmai Mountain, which became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2023, lie within Lancang county, some distance from the town.
