Mezcales Map Poster & Print
Mezcales is part of the municipality of Bahía de Banderas in Nayarit, a short distance inland from the Pacific bay that also holds Puerto Vallarta and Nuevo Vallarta. The land is flat coastal plain between the ocean and the Sierra, and from above the town is a mixture of older streets and newer planned subdivisions.
Much of the recent growth comes from the tourism economy around the bay, which has drawn workers and residents to the towns just behind the resort coast. The resulting map is a patchwork of grids at slightly different angles, each marking a new stage of expansion, with fields still visible at the edges.
A Mezcales map poster documents a town in the middle of change. The neat blocks of new neighbourhoods, the main roads toward the coast and the remaining farmland all appear clearly, with the bay and the mountains just beyond the frame.

Bay of Banderas
The town lies inland from one of Mexico's largest bays, part of the same coastal area as Puerto Vallarta and Nuevo Vallarta.
Coastal plain edges
Farmland still borders parts of the town, and the open plain shows how settlement is steadily filling the space between coast and hills.
