Milak lies in the Rampur district of Uttar Pradesh, on the level, fertile plain north of the Ganges. From above, the town is a compact, dense core of narrow lanes, with main roads leading out through fields in several directions. There are no hills to shape it, so the layout comes from roads, the railway and old village paths.
