Mozhga is in the south of the Udmurt Republic, in the Volga region of Russia. The town grew around a railway station on the line crossing the region, and on the map, the tracks remain a key feature. Streets form a fairly regular pattern on either side, with forest and farmland close by.
The town has a long industrial and craft background, including woodworking and glass production in the surrounding area. Like many towns in the region, it combines low wooden houses on quiet streets with Soviet-era apartment blocks and factories near the railway.
