Neuilly-Plaisance is a commune in Seine-Saint-Denis, a short distance east of Paris. Its map is shaped by height and water: to the south the Marne curves along the edge of the town, while to the north the ground climbs toward the Plateau d'Avron. Between them, residential streets wind up the slope in loops and bends rather than straight lines.
Much of the town is made up of houses on small plots, giving the print a fine, even grain, with larger blocks and green areas on the heights. The RER A line crosses the lower town near the river, a long straight stroke that contrasts with the curving streets above it.
