North Watford is the residential northern part of Watford in Hertfordshire, about twenty miles from central London. From above, it is mostly suburban housing. Rows of terraces and semi-detached homes bend into crescents and closes, broken up by schools, playing fields and small parades of shops. It is dense but domestic, and very little of it rises above two storeys.
A single-track branch railway runs through the district, linking Watford Junction with St Albans. Watford North station serves the neighbourhood. North of the housing, the ground opens toward Leavesden, where a former aerodrome is now home to large film studios.
