Nova Timboteua is a municipality in the northeast of the Brazilian state of Pará, in the region between Belém and the Atlantic coast known as the Bragantina. On a map, the town centre is a small, regular grid of streets. Around it lies a landscape that has been cleared and farmed for a long time, with fields, patches of forest and small rivers.
As with many towns in this part of Pará, the layout is simple: a main road running through, a church and square in the middle, and straight streets extending on either side until they reach farmland.
