Perumbavoor is a town in Ernakulam district, Kerala, a short distance inland from Kochi. From above, it does not look like a grid. Roads follow the gentle, rolling ground, and houses spread out among coconut palms, rubber and other plantations, so the edge of town is hard to pin down.
The town sits on the Main Central Road, one of Kerala's key north–south routes, and major roads meet at its centre. The Periyar, Kerala's longest river, flows through the surrounding region, and small streams and paddy land lie in the low ground between the settlements.
