Pindi Gheb lies in Attock District in northern Punjab, Pakistan, on the Potohar plateau. This is a landscape of rolling, often dry terrain cut by gullies and seasonal streams. The town itself forms a compact cluster of streets, with an older, tightly built centre and newer areas spreading along the main roads.
Outside the town, the land is broken by ravines that appear on the map as branching lines, like the veins of a leaf. Fields occupy the flatter ground between them, and roads find their way around the steeper sections. On a print, this gives the surroundings an unusual, organic texture.
