Prince Patrick Island is among the westernmost islands of the Canadian Arctic Archipelago, in the Northwest Territories. It faces the Arctic Ocean on its western side. From above it is a large, irregular landmass of low, flat terrain, cut by long inlets and bays. Sea ice holds it for most of the year.
The island is uninhabited. There are no towns or roads, only the outline of the coast and the drainage channels that cross the tundra. For decades a joint weather station operated at Mould Bay, on the eastern side, and it was one of the few long-term human outposts in this part of the Arctic.
