Quillón is a town in the Ñuble region of central-southern Chile, in gently rolling country between the Itata river and the coastal ranges. The surrounding land is agricultural, with vineyards, orchards and pine plantations, and the town has long been a summer destination for people from Chillán and Concepción.
The main attraction is Laguna Avendaño, a lake close to the town where visitors swim, camp and spend long summer afternoons.
