Rampachodavaram lies in the hilly Agency area of Andhra Pradesh, northwest of Rajahmundry, where the Eastern Ghats rise above the Godavari basin. On a map, the town is compact and irregular, fitted into the terrain, with roads leaving it in long curves through forest and small tribal villages.
