The Setor Complementar de Indústria e Abastecimento, usually called SCIA, is an administrative region of the Federal District, west of Brasília's Pilot Plan. On a map it combines two very different patterns: the large, regular lots of an industrial and supply zone, and the dense, tightly packed streets of Cidade Estrutural, the settlement that makes up most of its population.
The area grew up near the Estrutural road and next to what was for decades Brasília's main landfill, closed in 2018. Its edges are marked by expressways and by the green expanse of the Brasília National Park nearby, so the district reads as a compact urban patch surrounded by strong boundaries rather than a continuous part of the city.
