Sihorā lies in Jabalpur district, in Madhya Pradesh, on the route running north-east from Jabalpur towards Katni. It is a town of the central Indian plateau. The land around it is gently undulating and farmed, with low hills in the distance, and on a map the countryside shows as a mosaic of fields, ponds and small village clusters.
The railway and the main road both pass through the town, and they give it its basic direction. The older bazaar area has narrow, irregular streets, and newer housing extends along the main routes. Tanks and ponds, common across this region, show as small, smooth shapes among the built-up blocks and fields.
