Silverdale sits at the northern end of Dyes Inlet, an arm of Puget Sound on the Kitsap Peninsula in western Washington. The shoreline is the first thing the map shows: a sheltered body of water with coves, points and small creeks, and the community curving around it. Inland, the ground rises into low, forested hills, and the roads twist to follow it.
Silverdale is unincorporated, but it is the main shopping and service centre for central Kitsap County.
