Tamallalt, also written Tamelelt, is a small town in the Marrakesh-Safi region, on the dry plains north-east of Marrakesh. From above, it is a compact settlement crossed by a main road, with neighbourhoods on either side and a landscape of farmland beyond. The layout is straightforward, shaped by the road and the surrounding fields.
The region around Tamallalt is agricultural, with olive groves and irrigated plots that break the plain into long, geometric shapes. The High Atlas lies to the south, far enough away that it stays off the map but close enough to define the region's climate and water.
