Tecuci is a town in Galați County in eastern Romania, in the historic region of Moldavia. It lies on the Bârlad River, which runs through a wide, flat valley on its way south toward the Siret. From above, the town appears as a compact built area surrounded by long strips of cultivated fields that stretch toward the horizon in every direction.
The river and its floodplain shape the map, with the town set along the valley and roads converging on the centre. Tecuci has long been a rail junction, and the railway lines are clear on the map, running across the plain and meeting near the town.
