Tevragh Zeina is one of the districts of Nouakchott, the capital of Mauritania, on the city's western side toward the Atlantic coast. From above it is a clear, planned grid of broad avenues and large blocks laid out on flat, sandy ground. At its edges the city meets open dunes and the coastal strip.
Nouakchott was founded in the late 1950s as the capital of the new state, and Tevragh Zeina grew into its most prosperous residential area. The district is home to many embassies and diplomatic residences, as well as ministries and large private houses along wide streets. Its layout reflects a capital built almost from scratch in a desert setting.

Several wide avenues run through the district and connect it with the city centre. On the poster they stand out as bold lines among the finer residential streets.
